Pharmacology for nurses " data-medium-file="https://i2com/ fit=300,169&ssl=1" data-large-file="https://i2com/ fit=618,348&ssl=1" / Glucophage also known Metformin is a very common medication that nurses and nursing students give on all floors of the hospitals and other medical facilities. Glucophage is an oral diabetes medication the helps to control blood sugar levels. Glucophage is given to people with type 2 diabetes and can sometimes be used in combinations with insulins and or other medications. Never crush Glucophage XR, the XR stands for extended release and if the pill is crushed or cut in any way, this will cause too much of the drug being released in the patient at the same time. Patients should not use Glucophage if they have an allergy to Metformin. They should also not be given this medication if they are in DKA or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution must be utilized if the patient is having any type of CT scan or X-ray that uses dye that is injected into their veins, an example would be contrast dye. In these situations the patient will need to stop taking Glucophage for a short time around 48 hours. Rarely, too much metformin can build up in the body and cause a serious (sometimes fatal) condition called lactic acidosis. Lactic acidosis is more likely if you are an older adult, if you have kidney or liver disease, dehydration, heart failure, heavy alcohol use, if you have surgery, if you have X-ray or scanning procedures that use iodinated contrast, or if you are using certain drugs. For some conditions, your doctor may tell you to stop taking this medication for a short time. Stop taking this medication and get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of lactic acidosis, such as unusual tiredness, dizziness, severe drowsiness, chills, blue/cold skin, muscle pain, fast/difficult breathing, slow/irregular heartbeat, or stomach pain with nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. Show More Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb. Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking metformin and each time you get a refill.

It is the largest pharmacy in the stretch of road between Nana intersection and Asoke intersection. Its prices are very competitive (they claim to offer the wholesale price). While formerly it looked a bit decrepit looking, the pharmacy now has been renovated. Also located on Sukhumvit road, close to Robinson Department Store is another smaller pharmacy, named KS Pharmacy, that gives better than average service and is run by pharmacist(s). We still recommend the two pharmacies mentioned above. However, during a visit in May 2012, we noticed price increases in both of them. Some vitamines we purchased there, we found afterwards 15% cheaper closeby. Buy Cialis In Bangkok Pharmacy Safe. Pharmacy Buy Cialis Bangkok Pharmacy BestPrice!
